OK, Google changed their website, which broke the key WebbIE Google
Search function. That was important enough for me to push through
building a new installer immediately, rather than going for a period
of beta testing. Over the weekend, due to ineptness on my part, this
meant more than one build. So we're now up to 3.7.3.
This should now correctly uninstall previous versions, so you will no
longer find Accessible BBC Listen Again in the Accessible and WebbIE
folder in the start menu, nor the short-lived iPlayer TV programs.
You'll instead find the BBC iPlayer Listen Again link, which is the
Beta now folded into the installer. It now has a proper status bar so
you can get progress information using your screenreader "read status
bar text", and a help file!
If the installer failed to uninstall previous versions then you'll
indeed have a few more icons in the folder of old non-working
programs, like Accessible BBC Listen Again. Sorry about that. You can
remove that by uninstalling older versions from add/remove programs.
The latest installer should remove them correctly for you.
Other changes in this release:
New Accessible Clock program.
WebbIE now correctly renders OBJECT and APPLET HTML content.
RSS Reader parses HTML in RSS feeds.
WebbIE correctly opens urls typed into Open dialogue (e.g. File > Open
> www.asda.org.uk)
WebbIE Google search allows you to go to next page of results.
The installer turns off the display of web page script errors.
Removed the Alt+Ctrl+W shortcut key for WebbIE because it conflicts
with WindowEyes (which uses the same shortcut key.)
I'll leave it up on the site for a week to see if there are any
critical bugs, then I'll push it out through the WebbIE update
mechanism.
Finally, if the iPlayer program can't find a RealAudio stream for a
programme, then yes, it'll open the programme page in your web
browser.
