But Ibrahim, JSay is a separate program. If you're going to compare the two you should surely do like for like. Without these additional packages Jaws can't do the type of tasks you refer to. If it would do these tasks straight out of the box your argument would hold water, as it is it doesn't.

Hi William.Apologies for being ambiguous about scripting, but while the apple OS may as a whole have scripting support which feeds through to the screen reader, can you individually customize voice over to behave in a specific way in different environments? For instance, when jaws encounters charts in excel, it gives a verbose description of the layout of the chart which is a behavior requiring complex scripting and interaction with the application. Similarly, is it possible to directly take control of voice over to behave in a specific manor? To give an example the jaws enhancing utility suite J-Tools has the ability to integrate with Dragon Naturally Speaking to a degree where text is read back to you as it is dictated. This again requires considerable experience in creating behavioral macros and scripts to enable this functionality and get jaws to behave exactly as the developer intends.
