Hello, The indexes are readable with screenreaders and although there is some transcription errors, you can get a lot of usefull information from them, such as the family members when and where they were born, although I do not think it is possible to research your family without sighted help, as bmd certificates are handwritten and there is still a lot of information that has not been transcribed. Best wishes, Tony Pearce ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andy Collins" <andy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, May 06, 2007 7:32 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Accessable family tree search website? > Hi Ron, thanks for these websites; I did try the 1901 census website, but > as > Dave says, so much information is stored as data images, and therefore not > accessible with JFW. > > Thanks - Andy > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "ron sears" <r.sears1@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Sunday, May 06, 2007 7:19 PM > Subject: [access-uk] Re: Accessable family tree search website? > > > | Andy, you could try the following. > | > | www.ancestry.com > | > | www.findmypast.com > | > | www.genesreunited.com > | > | You can check the 1901 census on line.
