Hi Barry,
yes, a tough one that, lol. they'll "help" me apply for grants for anything
like magnfication/screen reading or, a holiday grant however, you have to
purchase your own watches and any little bits that other societies have been
known to give these to their members for free, or discounted on request. Oh
yeah, they'll order whatever you want but, you pay for it just as if you'd
gone off to order it yourself. What's the point of using the Ipswich blind
then?

I don't think they even know themselves what they are there for. they do
pay for taxi services for their elder members to go to their clubs and
bowling events etc. but, that's it. nothing for the younger members at all.
they have been told that we don't know what they are there for and what help
they can give. They haven't really said much, not much that I'd recall
about this question. Their not inspiring lol. Only the Secretary, at
least, makes an effort to try. the rest don't, whoever they are! lol.
There's not a good relationship between us and the blind society really, no
real effort seems to made from their part.

there you go, another story altogether.

Justin

on them by asking them what they have to offer you. I would think that they
would try to play up their organisation rather than just offering the
discounted trip.
