Hi Justin
Have you tried asking them for anything? Perhaps you could put the onus on
them by asking them what they have to offer you. I would think that they would
try to play up their organisation rather than just offering the discounted trip.

Barry! your local Blind society does a lot more than what mine does for me
and the rest in Ipswich. they've got money alright but, they don't do
anything with it! unless you count the once a year 25% discount on a trip
  for each group.

that's about it! I hardly notice they are there <grin>.

  > Oh, yeah. Who ever is responsible for the building of the Scottish
parliament building should be sacked, sued and sent to Easter Island. As
for your blind society, is it the council one or a charity? In my home town
of Halifax, Calderdale Council's visual impaired department does little for
me because they are so strapped for cash. It is the Halifax Society for the
Blind, a charity organisation, that pays me regular visits, sorted me out
with a wireless for the blind, gave me a tv box and recently offered to pay
  for my latest Jaws update.
