I managed to download the free version, but it was tricky even to find the
download link. Also, you don't get support with it and only basic protection,
which is fine for me. I think clicking on the basic protection link will get
you to the free version.

I used the link and downloaded 8.5 too as I needed to upgrade my version 8.
Has anyone tried filling in their name and E-mail to get a free licence or so
they claim! They say its worth $34.95 for a full licence which they give free
but it seems like there should be a catch.

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is still a free version of AVG 8.5
out there somewhere. Since up-grading from version 8, it keeps saying that I
have a trial version. That seems to be the only free version available. I
suppose if I have to, I'll pay for it, but If I can get it for free, then I'd
rather do that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
