No you do not need the trek connected.
You only need to connect the Trek once for the initial Activation process with
Audible Manager.
After that you can simply download the Audible Books to your PC.
Typically the book downloaded file swill be in the folder Documents/Audible /
Downloads. The file name will be long but the book should be recognisable from
the filename. From here they can be simply copied to the $VRAudible folder on
your Trek SD card and the books should play fine in the trek provided it is
activated to read Audible Books. Normally just copying the books manually onto
the SD Card on your PC using Windows File Explorer and then inserting the SD
card back into your Player is the easiest way of getting your Books onto the
trek.

So do I have the Victor Stream connected to the PC for this download as I have
been instructed and if not, where do I find the books once they have been
downloaded?
The way I am doing it is using download manager but once I have pressed
download on the book I want from my library I go to downloads on my laptop and
there is a weird folder created there which seems to be added to every time I
download a book It begins with the letter A and I enter on it and tab to ok
and if I am lucky, the download starts I am very confused abot this and it is
doing my head in.
I can download in seconds to my phone but this has become something of a
challenge to me now.

You need to go to the audible site.
I use http://www.audible.co.uk/access
Log in,
Then go to your library where all your books should be visible .
There should be a download button for each book or part of a book.
If you are prompted for an application to open the file choose Audible Manager
but hopefully Audible Manager will simply open and ddownload the book you have
hit the download button on.

Hi Mandy,
I take it you've got Audible Manager installed on your computer? If so,
open it and connect your Trek to your computer via USB. Once you've
switched on the trek and heard, player connected, press the Alt key to enter
the menus in Audible Manager. Arrow to the right until you hear devices and
then arrow down to activate device and press enter. You'll then be asked to
put in your Audible user name and password into the two edit boxes, tab to
okay and press enter. That's it. You can now disconnect your trek from the
computer and you'll find an audible folder on your SD card. You can now
copy and paste any Audible books you've downloaded into the Audible folder
on the card and they should then play okay.
Hope this makes sense.
Cheers,
Sandra.
