Hello Ian.

Yes, I always use Touch typing mode; however, for new users the current
default mode might prove easier, and it's really no sweat to change to Touch
typing mode. I think they'll feel it more appropriate to keep default as it
is, particularly as new users will find it rather more of a hassle switching
to double-tap mode were the default to be changed.

I am thinking of asking the access team at Apple to consider making the
touch typing mode in Voiceover the default.  Would people generally support
this idea?  I was also thinking of suggesting that they include a voiceover
on option when a new unit is switched on in the same way they do with
