Hi Daghan, if we have the app already do we need to download it again? Janet

Hello friends,
It's Daghan again, from the Supersense development team. We have just released
some new, cool features on our iOS app and I wanted to get your feedback about
them.
Here is the link:
https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1484547836?pt=119769173&ct=M2-01&mt=8
Now, the latest version of our Supersense iOS app has:
- A much simpler user interface
- A new Smart Scan mode that automatically detects whether you want to quickly
read a piece of text, a long document or currency
- A Currency mode where you can hear the estimated value of a banknote. Right
now, it only scans US dollars, but we will soon add UK pounds and Euros
- A Document mode to read longer texts with the assistance of smart guidance on
how to point the camera to find the best scanning angle.
For people who would like to check out our Android app, here is the link. Some
of these latest features will be added to our Android app soon too.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mediate.supersense&hl=en_US ;
Are you a current Supersense user? What do you think about these new features?
What other features do you think could help this community the most? Please let
me know what you think.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Daghan

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the voiceover feedback, we can definitely add that to our next
releases.
What do you guys think about the accuracy and the simplicity of the app?
Especially we are trying to make smart scanner as efficient as possible to
eliminate waste of time while navigating in complex feature selection menus.
Did you have a chance to try smart mode yet?

I agree with you guys, I prefer to have VoiceOver read what has been
scanned too, it isn’t necessary to use another voice in my view.
Kind regards,

Hi Mo,
I’m with you there. There should always be an option to turn off
self-voicing, or read with the voice of choice from accessibility settings.
All the best

Hi.
The app is certainly easy to use. Was there a specific reason why the phone
voice was chosen to read out the text? Could future releases please use
voiceover to read everything? It was rather annoying to have my preferred
voiceover voice reading the various on screen options, and a separate voice
reading the text and app hints. I do tend to prefer the way that Seeing AI and
envision respect your voiceover options and use voiceover for reading the app
exclusively, instead of using whatever other default voice is set in settings.
Mo.

Most? I would have thought we could have all of them in Supersense.
That would make it the best app on the planet. 😊

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your help! We appreciate any feedback to develop the most
impactful features. We won't release Super Read for Android but will be adding
most of these cool reading features to Supersense!

Hi Dagham,
Is there going to be a version for Android, or will you incorporate all
this cool stuff into Supersense? Sense is not bad, but I don’t think it’s
quite there for a reading experience yet, is it? For beginners anyway. I love
Supersense personally, and have given feedback to your colleague Emre.
Keep up the good work.
All the best
Steve

Subject: [access-uk] A simpler scanner and reading app
Hello friends,
I am Daghan, the product manager of Mediate which developed the
Supersense app helping the blind to locate objects in the environment.
Many users asked us to offer scanning and reading features. We heard
from many people that there is a need for simpler, faster, friendlier, more
accurate, and more comprehensive scanning apps that everyone can use. In the
last few months, I talked to more than 100 people and conducted in-person
testing with at least 20 people so that we can offer the simplest and smartest
scanning and reading app to this community.
We finally have a beta version of our new app, Super Read, available on
the App Store. You can access it here: http://bit.ly/superread1 ;
Super Read can scan and read any type of physical document with
enhanced accuracy. It has a Smart Scanning mode that automatically detects the
type of document so you don’t need to waste time to navigate menus.
Super Read will also guide you on how to point the camera to have the
most accurate results. It will allow you to explore and share the scanned text
to other apps.
In the coming months, we will continue developing our app with new
features such as handwriting, currency, and barcode reading.
I want to develop the most accessible, the most useful scanning and
reading app for this community. I would appreciate any feedback you can provide.
Best,
