Hi Jim: You need the 32 or 64 gig versions, the 8 gig touch doesn’t support voice over. Also it has to be the latest mdel – 3rd generation (released September 2009), so avoid ebay and second hand sites as it usually isn’t obvious what generation device your getting. Amazon looks to be consistently cheapest, £209 for the 32 GB where higherstreet stores and apple stores and site sell it for £230 to £240. Rumour is that a new 4th generation will be coming out shortly (and apple tohave a tradition of releasing next generations in September), the main development for the touch being rumoured to be addition of a camera. Rumours about apple products can be hugely speculative though and rarely based on anything other than what customers want that’s issing from the current products so not all that reliable a guide. You could get one now safe in the knowledge that voiceover works well on it if you think the current mdel does everything you could possibly want, on the other hand if the new mdel does include a camera then this opens us the possibility of being able to have a scanning and reading app on the touch, so if that’s someting that’s of interest then it might be worth waiting a few weeks to see what develops. Hi list, I'm thinking about getting an ipod touch. Can anyone give me advice on which one to get, which ones have the voice over and where is the cheapest one. Thanks for any advice.
