hello petrina.

go to start, type update and go down to windows update. click check for updates, then wait until windows prompts you to install updates. as you tab through, an install updates button should show up after a few minutes. if you shift tab twice, it'll mention important updates. press enter, and in that list if internet explorer 10 shows up, press applications on it and click on hide update. also make sure before you press applications that its unchecked. if it doesn't show up in that list, then it won't install it again. earlier today, i roled back for someone else and internet explorer 10 did not show up again in windows update so you may just be able to get away with leaving it as it, it may remember that you do not want a new browser.

i hope this helps.

all the best,

Mo.

Hi Mo,

Thanks for this. Now that I have got it back to version 9, is there anyway that I can stop Windows update from updating it again?.

Hi.

press your windows key, and start typing the word program e.g prog and arrow down to programs and features. press enter on that, then tab until you get to view installed windows updates and press enter. in the list that comes up, press w until you get to windows internet explorer 10. press applications then go to uninstall and that should role you back to internet explorer 9.

hope that helps,

Mo.

Hi all,

I can't be sure, because I don't know a lot about Windows updates. But I think on Wednesday, when Windows 7, was downloading updates, it also updated my internet explorer from version 9 to 10. So my question is how can I get back to internet explorer 9. Can I do a system restore, or will I have to use one of the disk's that came with my Laptop, or am I stuck with it. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me with this one.
