Thanks for everybody's adviced on this - this morning we phoned our local post
office and yes, our parcel arrived there on 23 December, we had to pay customs
of £23.60 and so now have it but as far as I know, we had received no notice of
this although perhaps a card was posted through our door.
Shame they couldn't just bring it here and ask for the money there and then but
all's well that ends well.
I would like a case for it but hopefully, when RNIB finally sell it, I will be
able to purchase one as I don't want to order one from America.
Mandy.

Hello Mandy and all,
Some 8 years or so ago I privately purchased a couple of A.P.H. 4-track
cassette recorders directly from the U.S.A.
I received a phone call from, I think, the Post Office, kindly informing me
that VAT was payable and how would I like to pay?
The deal was simple, pay the VAT or they will not process my package.
Could you be stuck in a similar position, and with both the virus and Christmas
being in the mix, whoever has your package has yet to process your goodies?
Paul Benson.

?HI Mandy
It does seem unusual to have such a long delay, if the goods are already now
in the UK. Have you contacted the UK delivery firm to ask about progress.
Best regards
Andrew

Interesting how long people are waiting for their items to be delivered but
is this after accessing tracking information saying the item is in the UK?
Do they always use the same courier?

?Hi Mandy,
I have a number of items I've ordered from the States in November, that
haven't yet arrived. Given your order date I wouldn't worry yet. The
biggest problem from what I can gather is the couriers in the UK. They
really can't handle the volume of goods they're having to deal with. I'm
finding items I've ordered locally are taking much longer than normal to
arrive. Even Amazon Prime isn't arriving in a timely manner.
All the best, Paul

I don't remember who it was on this list that sent me the link to a T Guys
website from where I ordered the Orbit writer with the hope that it would
arrive by Christmas Day.
I have still not received the Orbit Writer and the tracking information
says only that it is somewhere in the United Kingdom on its way to
destination.
I am not receiving replies when I write to them at their help desk asking
what I can do and asking for a refund if it doesn't arrive.
Any ideas please?
