Hi Carol:

The number which is referred to is the number of pixels
(if my memory at this early hour is correct)!

One of the issues with JAWS is that it will read what
isn't in the cell.

However, you can use option format cell (or range of
cells) and turn on wrap or many other attributes.
This should ensure that your data is enclosed in that
cell.

A good resource, albeit a little out of date, is John
Wilson's "from the keyboard".

I haven't looked at it from some while, but basics such
of this shouldn't be any different!
