Hi Carol - You can use command space bar to open 'spotlight search.' Just type in the name of your download, then you can arrow up and down the list of results, what it thinks is your best hit, is highlighted at the top of the list. If you can't remember the name of the app, you can type downloads in the search field, and press enter on the top result, which will probably be your downloads folder, this will have your downloaded app in it.

Like you, I manage to do certain things, but then can't figure out how I did it! -

Hi Andy,

This is just short because it's late!

I noticed that you have been given a few good resources and that Jackie has given you information about the various lists. I used to be on one Which I think was the one ending in.com but it was very busy and generally American based. I may however get back to a list if I feel I am taking up too much time from those we know here in the UK.

Yes, I am getting there and managing to achieve a few things, Although I don't always know quite how I did it!

I made my first purchase in the App Store today, got the Account sorted to be used on the laptop but then wasn't sure what happened to the download. At one point I did see something about install, but I'm not quite sure whether it really got to that stage. I haven't yet found it!

All good fun!

Now it really is time for bed!

Thanks Carol -I have this, and I think have made use of all the Applevis content in respect of the Mac. It's a helpful start, It's all the next stage stuff I'm searching for resources on, finding some, and struggling with trial and error learning on my own. I'll get there, and I'm sure you will too, and I hope this list doesn't despair of us in the process <smile> I'm also subscribed to the blind apples mailing group, but that is more iPhone based than Mac stuff. Wonder if there is an actual Mac group? -
