Hi Scot.
To be honest with you, I really don't know. I was lucky enough to get a modem with the old connection manager software which has shortcut keys to access the main functions like connect, disconnect etc. With the newest three dongles, they use a totally inaccessible connection manager called the three dashboard, it has no shortcut keys as far as I know and is terrible with screen readers, the graphical icons and buttons have no tool tips and the window floats, so its very easy to lose your cursor if it moves outside the window and to regain focus.
I'm sorry if this is a disappointment, but I don't want you spending your money only to be disappointed. If someone else knows better than I, please feel free to correct me on these issues.

O so can't we do it at all then?
With my t mobile one that doesn't work with Skipe, wen it's installed, if I go to start menu and go down to connect to and go in there, it is one of the connecting options. 

Is that not the same with the 3 one?

Smile I guess it's a bit pointless getting it if I can't get on with it.

Sorry, I don't quite follow your question. If you connect the three dongle to the computer for the first time, you'll be prompted after a minute or so 
to install the connection manager software.  Once done, whenever you plug
the dongle in, the connection manager will pop up, you then hit the connect 
button.  The problem for us blind folk is that the connect button isn't
accessible to our jaws or window-eyes cursors and there is no way as I know 
to connect through the start menu.

Well, I don't use skype that often *smile*, but if your in a good coverage 
area, you can always test the call quality by using the echo123 call
testing
service.  This will not only test call quality but allow you to hear your
own voice, thus also testing your microphone setup.  If your using skype
on
a laptop which I assume will be the case, you might want to consider
getting
yourself a headset with built in microphone or a skype handset. This will 
definatly improve call quality rather than using the internal microphone.
