Hi Tony.

It depends on whether you can define one in the software. As far as I know,
you have to connect and disconnect through the software. Simply using the
network icon in XP and enabling or disabling the modem network entry isn't
sufficient to get you online. The software tells the modem to establish a
connection with the three internet gateway and also displays signal strength
and connection status in the interface window. This is why a concerted effort
needs to be made by a group of three customers to get this accessibility issue
resolved. Even if they just allowed us to download and use the old dashboard,
at least you could use that after a limited fashion. The only other
alternative is to try and get yourself an E169G modem which has accessible
software preinstalled. This modem has been discontinued by Three and has been
replaced by the E169, not at all the same thing. A quick search on EBay should
come up trumps though although you should make sure the description indicates
its in its original packaging and sealed.

All the best, Ibrahim.
