[access-uk] 2 quick: how do i do, questions

hi, after installing some XP critical updates two things happen now and i
want to get rid of them.
1. when windows starts i'm asked to log on. before windows etc just started
automatically.
2. i find i have to turn number lock on and then off again or else the
insert and enter keys don't work.
how do i get rid of these?
