Hi Eleanor, talks is an access issue; The 195 directory service is not. The
fact that you can get information thanks to talks on your mobile phone is
totally irrelevant.

I have a mobile phone Ibrahim and I use Talks speech on it. When I am out
and about I will call 195 Directory Services to obtain a telephone number.
With an old and rusty memory and the desire to record the number, I will
ask for the number to be sent to me via text. Then I can add it to my
contacts. If I did not have Talks speech on my phone, I would not be able
to use my phone for text messaging and e-mail. That is just one important
use of 195 with access technology.

Hi Everyone.

Re this 195 service, can I ask what relevance this subject has to access
technology? I've so far counted 15 messages plus on this topic, and
while I agree it is important to know about these things, surely there is
a better list for discussing them.

All the best, Ibrahim.

I have phoned and asked Chris and what they say is that you will have to
contact Sky and ask if they do it.

Hi all.
Is that true, even if the line rental is with Sky and you are on a Sky
Talk subscription?
Many thanks.
Take care.

Hello Chris,

you can check it out by ringing free phone (0800) 5780 195. Calls to
0800 are free from landlines but not from mobile phones.

Hello all.
Now that I have a home phone, I would like to subscribe to the free
195
directory enquiries service. My line rental is with Sky, and I have
taken out a Sky Talk subscription. So do I just ring 195, say that I
am
blind and hard of hearing and request I have a pin to access free
directory enquiries? Also, how much does 195 cost for the initial
call?
Or is it always free.
Sorry for many questions.
Many thanks in advance.
Take care.
