The most recent AAHB board meeting was held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Present: Katie H, Joanne S, David S, Lisako M, Shevon H, Katie D, Ledric S,
Jessica R, Paul B, Annie N, Philip M, Ruopeng A, Sarah G., Daphne H

Minutes from December 2021 meeting approved.

During January 2022 board meeting we discussed the following:

Treasurer’s Report

  *   The Academy is in good financial health.

Health Behavior Research

  *   The abstracts from 2021 conference were published in Health Behavior
Research, Volume 4, Number 3 (2021).
  *   The first issue of Health Behavior Research for 2022 will be released
between February and March.
  *   Please consider submitting to the special issue, “Mentorship
Collaborations in Health Behavior Research” (deadline: February 28, 2022). Note
that at least 1 author should be a mentee and at least 1 author should be a
mentor.

Logo/rebranding project 

  *   Feedback received on the rebranding project was shared and discussed. We
reiterated the goals and expectations for rebranding and was reminded of the
need to communicate that we are not changing our mission but rather examining
ways in which our image can better reflect our mission. Board members
recognized the need to differentiate between three different segments of the
rebranding process: 1) logo change, 2) tagline change, 3) and general marketing
to increase/retain members. Though all are interrelated, they represent
different considerations for the project. If you have questions or comments,

Marketing & Communications Council

  *   The Council is seeking a student representative to assist with various
social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). This is a non-voting,
volunteer position that will go through March 2023. Please submit a letter of
interest, CV, and 2 references to Dr. Katie Dolphin
(kdolphin@xxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:kdolphin@xxxxxxxxxxxx>) by 11:59pm PST on Monday,
January 31st.
  *   The Council will be advertising Health Behavior Research.
  *   The Council will also be advertising the 2022 conference speakers leading
up to the conference.

Resource Development Council

  *   The Council has received financial sponsorship for the 2022 conference.
Thank you, Dr. Dennis Thombs!

Awards Council

  *     The committee is working on reviewing applications for the Judy K.
Black Award.

Membership Council

  *   Congratulations to Erika Thompson for being awarded fellow status!

Diversity & Equity Council

  *   No updates to report.

Professional Development & Mentoring Council

  *   Breakfast sessions at the 2022 conference are dedicated to professional
development and mentoring.
  *   The Council is working on putting together a 3-Minute Thesis Competition
for the 2022 conference
  *   The Council is working on a webinar for February.
