Hey
Stop!
Think about what you've been doing for the past month since summer started. How has that been? fun, relaxing exciting, boring?
Think about how you want the rest of your summer to go.
The reason why I ask these questions is: It's been my experience that during summer it's so easy to forget about God. There's no AACF multiple times a week, not as much accountability, and the whole relaxed atmosphere just seems to make bible reading that much harder. Now if you feel that this applies to you, I challenge you to do something about it.
I love AACF. Love the atmosphere of constant fellowship, gatherings, service and encouragement, but this is only a training ground. Summer is God's way of giving you a glimpse of what life is like after college. If you are having trouble keeping that fire burning for these three months, how are you going to do it for the rest of your life? Three out of five people who went to AACF during college, fell away from the faith after they graduated. Just think about that? scary statistic. It's an old problem. In the letter to the church in Philippi Paul talks about many brothers who used to walk with them, but who are now enemies of the cross of Christ. Whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things.
Now if you are doing great, and things couldn't be better, Praise the Lord! But just a word of exhortation. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall.
What is this world to you? A playground or battleground?
Your brother in Christ

Summer is here and it has been my experience that people are either
extremely busy, or bored to tears. The Lord recently brought
conviction to my heart, me being in the bored to tears category, that
I think everyone can benefit from hearing. We are all hear for a
reason. If the Lord didn't have a purpose for us here then He would
simply take us out of the equation. My charge to everyone reading
this is to find that divine purpose. Are the things that you fill
your day with and the things you focus your efforts toward reflective
of God's calling on our lives as Christians to be servants and
vehicles for the spreading of the Good News?
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has
called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
All of us who are mature should take such a vie
w of
things. And
if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear
to you.
-Phillippians 3:14-15
I pray that this summer we would all do something that makes a
difference in the kingdom of God and that He would be well please
with the way we are spending our time. Much love brothas and sistas = )

hey guys,
I hope everyone's doing well, I know we are all over the world right now, and everyone's going through different things. But wherever you are, I would like to encourage you to love the poor. I'm realizing that this is so important to do, because this is what Jesus did throughout his entire ministry here on earth, and this is the answer to everything. It doesn't have to be literal either. If you don't know anyone who is poor, I'm sure there are lots of people around you who are poor in spirit. You can interpret the poor any way you want. Love them.
The reason why I say this is because it really is the answer to everything. This summer might bring boredom, apathy, loneliness, etc. Maybe everything is going well. Nobody's making you love others, but I've done a lot of soul searching and I realized that the reason why I have my miserable times is because I don't take this seriously. God will provide entirely for you once you stop trying to satisfy yourself, and begin focusing your efforts on others. And this will bring you so much joy! And just a reminder for anyone involved in ministry next year, especially with the newcomers, remember that your job is to make friends, and the ministry will come naturally.
On a closing note, I hope God blesses everybody
ridiculously, and I can't wait to hear all of your stories from around
the
world, even if that was home. In all honestly, let me know how I can
love you, and please, I need just as much love. We can definitely start
the love by praying for each
other. I'm always here, so you can email me at joshmakk@xxxxxxxxx.
Love, your brother Josh
