Hi All,

Just to add that I've been collecting these for the suggested skills base, so once everyone has replied I'll put together the complete list, which can be re-sent to the group for peoples' reference, and maybe for the A2T site also.

I'll be on holiday from next week for a while so just to wish you a good summer.

Best,

Peter

Firstly my apology to Steve Dryden for omiting his name from the apologies list for the Sight Village meeting.

Also well done Steve, you are the first to put your Access Tech. skills on this list. Now Steve and I have put ours, it's time everyone else did likewise. We all have different skills and experience and all have different numbers of years in this sector. We need everyone to contribute to this exercise even if you have only just started and feel shy that your list of skills is not as long as others. It all makes a comprehensive countrywide skillbase, (if I can use such an ugly word!).

Riverside Training started in 1988, so has been in this sector for 20 years this week!

I give training in:
Window-Eyes, Jaws, Hal, Supernova, Lunar plus and Lunar, Zoomtext magnifier & magnifier reader and Guide.

In OCR software:
Kurzweil 1000, Cicero, OpenBook

in Braille translation software:
BrailleMaker, Duxbury and Cipher
in mainstream business applications:
all Microsoft Office applications with a proviso that basic training in Access can only be guaranteed over pre-arranged and agreed areas. Web based training in screen readers and magnifiers is also a specialism using either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

My experience and qualifications:

Sight & Sound Technology ? Jaws Screen Reader Accredited Trainer - 1996<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Certificate in Training Delivery Skills - Institute of IT Training ? 2001

British Computer Association of the Blind - BTCS Accredited Trainer - 2003

GW Micro ? Window-Eyes Screen Reader Annual Product Knowledge Test

A member of the Dolphin Computer Access beta test panel for Supernova and associated products

A trainer for BCAB IT4All computer awareness scheme

A member of the Steering Group setting up the BTCS scheme

An expert user for Window-Eyes for BTCS

The Riverside Training Partnership is an authorised dealer for GW Micro in the UK

We can also resell most Access Technology products on demand.

The Riverside Training Partnership has also worked under contract for the Dept. of Work and Pensions, Access to Work Scheme specialising in assessing those with visual impairments since 1996.

There are other skills I have not in this sector, (in response to Peter's request for group members to name other skills) which I will make available for the web site at a later date when this first exercise has been completed.

I am now on holiday celebrating 20 years of Riverside Training and back after August 15th.
