Sounds really good Bart.
I really enjoyed playing the old Falcon games back in the day, not to mention
EF2000 and F22. And the Microprose games prior to that.
That's were my virtual jet career pretty much stopped though. I'll probably
pick it up again when I have time, like when I retire in about 15 years :/

After doing some training giving us some idea on how to operate the F/A-18 in
A-A engagement, we decided last night to wonder on to an online server.
Picking a PvE server to practice the stuff we had learned, bit much like we did
when we chose Coconut server when we first went to IL2-GB.
We picked 2x F/A-18's of 77 Sqn RAAF to take on the reds :).
We managed to get a few kills each Mig23's/Mig29's/Su-27's with Aim-120's and
Aim-9x's. I got shot down on two sorties by SA-8 Gecko's, and landed a third
with 50lb of fuel!
The experience showed us we have still away to go in the way you fight in these
modern jets compared to the WW2 fighters we have been flying. There is a whole
different way to learn your SA, wingman tactic's, fuel management, etc, but at
least we got a few kills, dodged a few missiles coming back at us, etc.
It was very much good fun even though hard work, which took more concentration
I thought than flying in IL2-GB.
