I seem to be having trouble posting to hackfix. Can you possibly please check if this email address is registered? I am a little desperate, so please pardon if I ask a little more here. My TDS-3 keeps telling me it detects Rat.cabronator, Keylog.God, and Trojan Dropper.yyyyyyyyy (with two dots over each y) in many of my programs. I've downloaded a trialware version of PestPatrol, but it sees nothing, and later scans with TDS-3 say the trojan is in PestPatrol too. The local computer repairman says AdAware 6 freeware should get everything, and it did find and remove three registry items. However, there were many TDS-3 entries, 15 or more. Is the proper way to get at this is with a bootable floppy or cd? If so, how do I get one? Won't a purchased cd be outdated and fail also? Then won't updates be corrupted as they download? How do you get around all this? Does booting in safe mode enable the antivirus to see things it could not see normally because of trojan interferance? I have TDS Port Explorer, but can't seem to interpret what I am looking at. --- "Christy snowz-at-nospin.org |24hoursupport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx|" <4xi5i0qtn60t@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Good morning Unless you are 110% sure that the backup is not infected you could go that route. However it is probably better to boot to safe mode and let your antivirus/antitrojan program attempt to remove the problems for you. Yes you should let the program delete the whole file one by one. Before booting into safe mode ensure you have the most recent update files for your antivirus/antitrojan programs Hopefully that will help some *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** On 7/12/04 at 1:57 PM 0e60wq102@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: >my pc has trojans; >Rat.cabronator >Keylog.God >TrojanDropper.yyyyyyyyy (with two dots over the y) > >TDS-3 found them but can't fix except by deleting whole infected files one >by one. > >Will a complete drive reformat and drive backup get these? > >What else can I do?
