Often this is a resource problem. That means a conflict with an IRQ, memory
address (I/O address), or a DMA address. You might be able to get some more
information by looking at what is said in the resources tab for the sound card
in the control panel. You might have several choices for these settings.
Uncheck "Use Automatic Settings" to see what other configurations you might
have. You could try another one of these. Do you know whether your card is a
pci or an isa sound card? Also, do you have any other yellow astrisks? If so
where? Lots of questions here, let us know what you find. -- douglas
