I've configured Google to be my opening web page in Win98SE as well as in
WinXP. There is no problem with the URL address box in Win98SE, but it will
not appear in XP despite repeated tries.

I use the usual routine. Right click on the toolbar and put a check in front
of Address Bar. No dice. The address bar remains hidden in XP.

The Google search box will accept an URL, but requires an extra step to
reach the web destination.

I'm at a loss to explain or correct the condition.
