localvocal: Local Vocal
LocalVocal is the freelists address for Phoenix Chorale, a community chorus in Portland, Maine committed to social justice through song and action. The group began in 2014 and is made up of singers who want to build community through singing and social action, affect change in the world through partnering with community service organizations (like Preble Street Resource Center), and experience the power of group singing. Directed by Deirdre McClure, this mixed-voice ensemble is helping to bring focus to social justice issues in Maine and the larger community.
