Araneum is the Latin word for the "strands" of a spider's web. Arachne is the Latin word meaning "spider".

The Araneum Project was created to explore various ways to use Arachne (a DOS web browser and DOS shell) as a front end for launching DOS programs.

Araneum@freelists.org is an email list dedicated to the creation of DOS Applications for the Arachne web browser and DOS shell.
