Devo dire che, pur non essendo un gran poliglotta (l'inglese lo leggo
spesso ma non lo ascolto nè parlo mai), dopo 9 episodi sto cominciando
ad orecchiare la pronuncia americana.
e anche quella britannica :-)
Infatti il dr. Mohinder Suresh parla nettamente con accento UK (anzi,
trovo la sua pronuncia molto musicale ed equilibrata e un'ottima fonte
d'esercizio).
La cosa mi ha incuriosito, e mi sono documentato: l'attore, Sendhil
Ramamurthy, è nato a Chicago da genitori emigrati da Bangalore.
Dunque il suo accento dovrebbe essere o quello inglese-indiano (simile
più all'inglese che all'americano, ma caratterizzato da peculiarità
facilmente riconoscibili, come le r vibrate e la cadenza molto
particolare):
The form of English that Indians (and other subcontinentals) are
taught in schools is essentially British English, especially Scottish
English, which has influenced Indian dialects that commonly have a
pronounced "r" and a trilled r. For most, it is desirable to emulate
the brand of English that is linguistically known as Received
Pronunciation or, more commonly, BBC English. However, even during the
time of British imperialism (before the creation of the separate
states of Pakistan and Bangladesh), Indian English had established
itself as an audibly distinct dialect with its own quirks and specific

oppure una pronuncia molto più simile a quella americana.
Invece, soprattutto col passare degli episodi, la sua pronuncia è
sempre più british.
Ecco la risposta che ho trovato:
"Regarding Ramamurthy's accent on Heroes, I had read that they focus-
grouped the first episode and people preferred the British accent to
the Indian one, so the producers told him to change it. Now, whether
that's because people aren't comfortable with an Indian accent
generally, or Ramamurthy's *particular* accent, it's hard to say.
Leaving accuracy aside for a moment, he really did sound more at ease
with the British accent IMHO."
Non voglio pensare come debba essere cercare di guardare un film con
Eddie Murphy in lingua originale!
Eddie Murphy è gestibile ... per me è stata durissima OZ, una serie
ambientata in un carcere di massima sicurezza americano, dove ti
ritrovi con tutte i gruppi etnico-religiosi: gli ispano-americani, i
neri, gli islamici ... capire tutto è veramente difficile, se non
impossibile, perché ci sono fiumi di slang e le pronunce sono
abbastanza realistiche ... analogamente se guardi dei film di registi
inglesi come Ken Loach, che ispirandosi al neorealismo prende attori
spesso non profesisonisti, con pronunce "working class", è davvero dura!
