I guess I wasn't clear. I always get the preselection window. But on the A1
each file listed would have two icons on the left, one meaning download and
one meaning delete. I would then pick through and RA^o the ones I wanted to
delete from the server without downloading, always the smaller number.
Now on the SAM460 I find I must Select All, RA^w, and then procede as above.
Not a big deal, just two extra steps, but not what I am used to.
I just had some big excitement with YAM. For years I have had a Folder named
"YAM," associated with Internet:YAM/yam2, where the YAM-list mail goes.
Sometimes on the SAM460 when I run YAM, it will tell me that it has found
things like ".tagline.hsh" in my YAM folder; do I want to keep it with the
regular mail." I normally click "No to all."
And then when YAM comes up, I double click Folders > YAM, and discover that
Path: has changed once again to Internet:YAM! I guessed that having a
folder named "YAM" was confusing the stupid computer, so after resetting
".../yam2" in Path:, I tried to change the name of the folder to "YAMlist."
Then I closed YAM, saving configuration, and tried to restart it.
I guess this last time I must have clicked "Yes," instead of "No, to all."
Subsequent attempts to start YAM failed. In desperation I tried to use
freelists.org, where I was able to read this message I am replying to, but
I couldn't log on, couldn't remember my password, so unable to ask for
help.
So I looked in Internet:YAM again, so there was no YAM there! Looked in
.folders and saw YAM had not been changed to YAMlist, so I did it by hand.
Then I looked in yam2 and found this huge e-mail:
QE0g+wANLAM=.001,N 2302084 ----rwed 24-Dec-11 21:23:40
I hex-read it, saw it started with ELF, and caught on. I changed its name to
YAM and moved it out of the yam2 drawer, and now I've got a mail reader
again, but what will be next?
