I agree with the claim that it is 'unintuitive'! When I learned of this option
(auto-clipping) -- long time ago now -- I was totally surprized that it worked
that way. However, my intuition is not a standard of any relevance.

Interesting. When auto-clipping has been removed from the various applications,
I think we will be in a 'better' world -- for some!!!  :-)
