Hmmm, strange. For myself, I start XyWrite with a BATch file, where
the second line (after @ECHO OFF) is 
mode con: cols=80 lines=25
which is my preference. That way, I know that, no matter what the
global setting on any particular machine, my DOS settings and
defaults SL and SW are always in sync.
