We had an invasion of wt sparrows today. What a beautiful chorus of pure plainative song. They were busy eating tree seeds especially elm seed and popple catkins. This event occured right after the rain. The tree pollen was wet and stuck to the bird's bill giving them a yellow velvet appearence. Very strange to see them at the tops of trees. Others were more typically foraging in the flower beds and driveway edges. They were jumping in the leaf litter. The bird's were also seen drinking water off the rain-soaked leaves.
