In addition to what Mark mentions, below: many of these tamarack swamps
were investigated for birds fairly recently, by John Beilefeldt, Mike
Mossman, Eric Epstein, and Brian Bub. See their paper entitled "New
Distributional Records for Summer Birds in Southern Wisconsin Conifer
