Hello All, So many of you take such wonderful photos of the birds you see, I thought I'd mention the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at the Wisconsin Humane Society's new "Wild About Wisconsin" wildlife photo contest. There are some great prizes, celebrity judges, and the intent of the contest is to raise awareness, interest, and appreciation of birds (and other wildlife) in Wisconsin. Details are available here: http://www.wihumane.org/calendar/wlphotocontestguidelines.aspx. If you are going to enter, don't delay, since the contest deadline is just a couple of weeks away! I've been seeing or hearing from 1 to 3 PILEATED WOODPECKERS most mornings on my walks near our house in the Village of Richfield in Washington County. Of course, these shnooks made themselves scarce around the time of the Hartford CBC, but they are back to being pretty vocal and active. I'm seeing them on Friess Lake ROAD (not Friess Lake Drive, yes, we have both out here) between Hogsback Road and the Alpine Retreat Restaurant. You might be able to park in the Fox and Hounds Restaurant parking lot and walk Friess Lake Road. I usually see them when I walk the dog between about 7:15 and 8 AM. This is also a really good area for Barred and Great Horned Owls. Regards, Scott Diehl Richfield, Washington Co. #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
