[wisb] Yellow-crowned Night-Heron Hunt Back On

John Shillinglaw observed a Night-Heron on the Waldo Ponds and forwarded
the note below that adds to my first impression that this was
potentially a Yellow-crowned. If it can be relocated, this bird
deserves some close examination this weekend!

------------

Hello Joe. I looked at a night heron yesterday at Waldo in the area you
mentioned which certainly could have been a juvenile Yellow-crowned.
This was about noon just before Peter, et Waldo showed up. I was
impressed by the longer neck and legs as it was sitting on a mud flat.
The bill was clearly all black and the plumage darker than I would
expect in a juvenile Black-crowned. I could make out no spots on the
wing coverts, but the lighting was not optimal for this. My thoughts
were not diagnosed, but likely. It would seem the best time to try to
get a better look would be later in the afternoon.
