Yes, visiting Wyalusing should be worthwhile the first week in July. The Atlas of the Breeding Birds of Wisconsin has breeding phenology graphs --for the Kentucky Warbler, 5 of the 8 observations of feeding young were in July. Similar results for Prothonotary Warbler, Cerulean Warbler, and Acadian Flycatcher, and now you can include details like that in the ebird observations! Also some of the breeding bird surveys for this area allow surveys to continue into the first week of July. Later in July, not so much bird song, but the fledged young are out there feeding. For grassland birds, there are some large ridge top areas in the Millville Unit of the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway, off County C. I was hoping some folks from this email list could pass on some helpful hints to maximize the little amount of time I'll have. Would Wyalusing in July be worth the while ? I live in the Seattle area so summertime is not the best birding. I'm hoping WI might be different. Spent all my summers on my Grandparents farm but was clueless about birds then so I starting from scratch on what's there. Thanks for your help. If any of you get out this way I'd be more than happy to take you birding. We have a Snowy Owl irruption out our way this year too.
