The DNR is lowering the water levels in many of the pools and exposing a lot of mud flats. Shorebirds are becoming more numerous each day. Mostly seen so far are "peeps" and Yellowlegs but a scope would probably reveal more. Greeenwing Dike off of Frog Alley Rd. seems best, especially if you bring in a spotting scope. Hwy 83 is under construction, so Cty I and Sugden Road will get you in. Or you can walk through the woods from the Water Tower in Mukwonago. That's about a 1/3 mile walk and a good way to see Passerines. Flies are moderately pesty in the woods and no problem out on the dike. Repellent is a good idea. Also seen are numerous Pelicans (best year ever), GB Heron, Egrets, Black Terns and an occasional Osprey or Eagle.
