Will never forget wife and I walking on frozen Cedar Creek (mid 1970's). These were the 1st years cardinals really arrived in force. Fallen trees along stream covered with cardinals. Literally dozens in multiple trees and our bird feeder. This year still getting 4 - 6 most mornings and evenings on feeder.
