I tried for the Slaty-backed gull, today. I got the around 9:20. It hadn't
been seen, and I didn't see it either. I sayed for an hour and then went up
to Port Washington. I got back at !2:15 and stayed till all the gulls left,
at 12:40. Still no dark backed gulls.
But this sure is the place to see Kumlien's Iceland Gulls. Some with just
some pale gray in the wing tips, some with medium gray. All adults except
for a second winter . I say a couple tweeners Iceland/Thayer's. There were
a couple more classic adult Thayer's.
