All, Among several dozen shorebirds at the Wangsness Rd/Harvey Rd ponds were one American Avocet (west side of Harvey) and two Buff-breasted Sandpipers (west end of dry mudflat on south side of Wangsness). On the way back, I stopped at the Waunakee School Forest. If a "flock" is more than one bird and "mixed" means a variety of more than one species, then, by definition, I ran into a mixed flock of warblers - five American Redstarts and one Black-and-white Warbler. Needless to say, it was pretty slow passerine-wise. Good birding.
