[wisb] Platteville 5/02: 18 warbler species!

Hey all,

Well that storm that rolled in at 4 in the morning really brought the birds
down!

I went birding around the UW-Platteville campus and found 18 species of
warblers and many other migrants. Warblers included NASHVILLE, BLACK AND WHITE,
ORANGE-CROWNED, GOLDEN-WINGED, MYRTLE, TENNESSEE, BLACK-THROATED GREEN, YELLOW,
CHESTNUT-SIDED, BLACKBURNIAN, MAGNOLIA, BLUE-WINGED, PALM, NORTHERN
WATERTHRUSH, NORTHERN PARULA, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, AMERICAN REDSTART, and
OVENBIRD. Other migrants I saw today were many GRAY CATBIRDS and ROSE-BREASTED
GROSBEAKS, WARBLING, BLUE-HEADED, AND YELLOW-THROATED VIREOS, LINCOLN'S,
WHITE-CROWNED, WHITE-THROATED, and SWAMP sparrows, and 3 GREEN HERONS at a
small pond near campus.

Good birding,

Luke Dahlberg
