I think the take-home point here is that it's really fun and exciting to go 
outside at night and hear birds that are migrating overhead but we should use 
extreme caution when trying to pin them down to species level. Although some 
species have distinctive nocturnal flight calls, some (especially sparrows and 
warblers) are so alike that even trying to ID them with sonogram equipment is 
extremely difficult if not impossible. If it's this tough using high-tech 
equipment, it should be obvious that making these identifications with just our 
ears could lead to a lot of inaccuracy. There's nothing wrong with leaving chip 
notes unidentified!
