This morning, we did our second bird walk in the Myrick Marsh. We ended up with about 50 species of birds with a few species that were the First of the Year (FOY) for me. Highlights included: Black Tern (FOY) Warbling Vireo (FOY) Baltimore Oriole (FOY) Savannah Sparrow (unusual in the marsh) White-throated Sparrows (a few) Palm Warblers (a few) Northern Waterthrush (everywhere) Sora Green Herons Lots of shorebirds including Solitary Sandpipers (dozens - most I have ever seen in one place) Lesser & Greater Yellowlegs (Many) Wilson Snipe (1) Pectoral Sandpiper (8-10) Least Sandpiper (2) It was a beautiful morning although there was very little movement of warblers.
