In addition to Pete Fissel's and Daryl Tessen's reports, today (Monday, Dec. 6) we also found: -- a Northern Shrike on the top of a tree on the east side of the main road that goes through Kohler/Andrae State Park (about halfway along the road from the entrance station to the campground) -- a Long-tailed Duck, sitting on the green gook at the east end of the 2nd jetty south of the North Point parking lot ... yes, sitting on the green gook on the last cement support of the jetty, hunkered down in a nicely rounded spot, occasionally preening and stretching and flapping its wings, and just generally enjoying the full sunshine on the south side of the jetty. An adult male in striking winter plumage. When city workers came along Broughton Drive to empty the trash bins, the Long-tailed Duck didn't appreciate the noise or activity and slipped into the water. As we left, it was swimming among several dozen Mallards, close enough to shore to be easily visible. --Dave & Margaret Brasser Sheboygan Sheboygan County #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
