Ditto Chris's Fox Point experience. I'm directly south by about 12 miles, and began to first hear, then see waves of both white crowns and throats at about 5-6pm. Also, a couple of delightfully secretive winter wrens explored the woodpile, and numerous thrush which have been here for a week or so, tho more heavily today, darted in and out of the shrub cover they love. Warbler stream has been regular every morning for the last few weeks, and was especially thick two days ago. The wind along the lake today made for better inland birding, I thought. Lake Park was active along Lake Drive, but less so along the Lincoln Memorial bluff because, I assume, it was too blustery there. I didn't take the time to go to that great spot near the stormwater falls in the ravine, but think it could've been protected and active. Owls have been quite vocal hereabouts, and early in the evenings. Screech and Great Horned, all calling. Have a new crop of Eurasian Collared doves here at the feeders. I observed a couple juveniles at the Grant Park lakefront last week, and figure they made their way the couple blocks west to here. Counted six today. Betsy Abert, So. Milwaukee, SE Milw.
