I found a second cycle Mew Gull lounging on the small beach at Lakeshore State Park in Milwaukee this afternoon, surrounded by many Ring-Billed and some Herring Gulls. This bird caught my eye with its blue-gray bill (with a black tip) and legs. It was slightly smaller than the RB Gulls, and the bill was less robust. The eye was darker than the RB Gulls. There were black splotches on the tertials, and the white tail had a black band near the tip of the tail, separated from the tip by a thinner white band. The primary projection appeared to be less than the RB Gulls. The mantle was gray, and the white head and neck had some scattered brown speckling.
