[wisb] ID help wanted, possible Merlin

Hello all,
I have never seen a Merlin before, but today at Vernon Marsh a small
falcon-shaped bird flew overhead. I grabbed two (poor) pictures as it went
by. It was dark overall, except the face, and roughly the size of a
dove. From my guides, I believe I can eliminate the possibility of it being
either a Kestrel or a Peregrine Falcon, but many of you (most, really) are
far wiser than I!
Below is a link to the two pictures. If anyone would like to take a minute
to send me their thoughts about whether or not I can say it is a Merlin for
sure, I would appreciate it! I have never seen one before and I am anxious
to add it to my life list!

Thanks in advance!
