[wisb] Hustisford-Lifer, white-winged crossbill today

Stopped below the dam in Husty today to see what I could find since the
"clean-up". Lots of tree swallows and a few northern rough-winged swallows
with a few chimney swifts in the area also. Did see one y.r. warbler and
heard one yellow warbler. Then I saw a bird about 20' away that didn't look
familiar to me. He was right out in the open and got the bins on him. I was
amazed to see my first ever white-winged crossbill. The reddish color, dark
wings with broad white wing bars and when he turned his head right I could
plainly see the crossed bills to confirm it. Last year I watched for pine
siskens all winter and saw one in my yard in mid-May. Now this year I
watched for crossbills all winter and see one in mid-May. With both being
life birds at the time. Pretty weird. Earlier today had FOY black terns,
green herons and least sandpiper.
