I'm now using the Van Ert nestbox springloaded design for my BRAW NABS style
bluebird nestboxes. The installation is very easy and fast and the operation
appears to be foolproof as the trip bar is set very low ensuring the bird is
well inside the nestbox when tripped. Like other designs, the entrance hole
is blocked enough so the bird cannot escape but still allows air to
circulate. This way if you captured a bluebird in error it can be released
readily. I tested the traps this morning and within 30 minutes was two for
two. For those of you looking for a dependable design you can reach the
creator Floyd Van Ert at fvanert@xxxxxxxx
