I checked out Menasha, Little Chute and Kaukauna this afternoon, plus Shady Lane Rd (Rat River/Medina Jct area). On Little Lake Butte des Morts among the numerous Herring Gulls were 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull (ad), 2 Iceland Gulls (ads), and 1 Ring-billed Gull. By James Is. 25+ cormorants were present. At Jefferson Park (Menasha) the following were seen: 26 Ruddy Ducks, 1 Ring-necked Duck, 2 Lesser Scaup, 2 Canvasbacks and 2 Buffleheads, plus the usual ducks. On the ice way out was a Glaucous Gull (2nd yr). Below the Little Chute dam the White Pelican was still present plus a Coot, Hooded Merganser and about 10 cormorants. The number of geese was greatly reduced from a week ago; all the gulls were Herrings. Thousand Islands (Kaukauna) had its usual large number of gulls, all Herrings, plus many eagles. Along Shady Lane Rd late this afternoon were 14 Rough-legged Hawks, 9 Harriers, 1 Red-tailed Hawk plus briefly seen was 1 Short-eared Owl.
